Generative AI is fast becoming embedded in our daily lives and ensuring its use in education is responsible, ethical and equitable is a key consideration for teachers, school听leaders and policy makers.

This one day, face-to-face event, will bring together senior leaders from across Scotland to discuss and explore this topic, share experience, concerns, examples of good practice and build consensus on the way forward for Scottish schools.

The day will be conducted under Chatham House rules; presentations will not be recorded and there will not be an option to attend remotely.

Registrations close on the 31st May 2026.

Please, note that the event is for school senior leaders (i.e., headteachers) and education leaders only.

It will include:

  • what the research tells us about AI and education
  • learners鈥 perspectives on AI, including supporting diversity and ASN
  • the teacher view on AI听in the classroom听
  • a whole school approach听to AI literacy

10:15-11:00 Group Session 1: Capturing Perspectives on听AI Literacy in the classroom

This听session will provide space for听sharing听perspectives听on the key themes of the morning session, to understand more fully the issues schools and learners听face, and听build consensus on听priorities and approaches needed.
