Funding from The Scottish Informatics & Computer Science Alliance (SICSA) has enabled the 天美视频 team to help students from the University of Edinburgh (School of Informatics) visit schools across Scotland for the purpose of running Micro:bit workshops with learners.
60 schools registered interest in ‘Micro:bits on the Move’.听To date, students have visited rural Scottish schools in Fife, Highland, Perthshire and Scottish Borders with further visits planned over the coming months.
In April 2022, Micro:bits were sent to all schools in Scotland by the Micro:bit Educational Foundation.
‘The tiny computers are being given to all primary, secondary and additional support needs schools in Scotland as part of a landmark investment to improve the quality of, and participation in, computing science and digital literacy in Scottish schools.’
Towards the end of 2022, the 天美视频 team saw an opportunity to support schools across Scotland to make the most of their new Micro:bits. SICSA funding enabled Informatics students to share their computing expertise with teachers and learners directly in classrooms.听 Meanwhile, those in the Edinburgh and South East Scotland city region have been able to benefit from the 天美视频 Micro:bit focused professional learning workshops. Schools in the Lothians, Edinburgh, Fife and Scottish Borders can book workshops for teachers through our professional learning booking page.
