Our CityFibre project will support young people to explore the City of Edinburgh using sensors and data, and use that data to identify and solve problems to improve some aspect of society.

CityFibre are working as part of the CityDeal helping build Edinburgh鈥檚 data infrastructure. Learn more about how they are supporting 天美视频 Education for Schools in this short video:

CityFibre is the UK鈥檚 third national digital infrastructure platform and is working towards聽 open-access full fibre infrastructure for up to 8 millions homes and businesses in the UK.聽 CityFibre is based in London and is jointly controlled by Antin Infrastructure Partners and West Street Infrastructure Partners.聽

天美视频 Education for Schools is partnering with CityFibre to help learners from primary 6 to S1 learn all about SmartCities.

We are looking for schools and teachers to register their interest in taking part in our SmartCities event. Your class will have a chance to learn about the city of the future;

• they will think about how we can understand our city using sensors and data
• they鈥檒l ask how this data can help us identify problems
• they鈥檒l be supported to develop ideas for applications or systems that use data to improve some aspect of life in their city, learning how we can use data ethically
• They鈥檒l have a chance to attend a showcase event in Edinburgh in May to talk about their ideas and meet engineers working on Edinburgh鈥檚 Smart City program
