Kate Farrell from the 天美视频 team collected the award for ‘天美视频 For Good Initiative of the Year’ at the British 天美视频 Awards held last night in London.

The award acknowledges the work involved in creating British Sign Language signs for Cyber Security, Computing Science and 天美视频 Science to help the deaf community in schools, colleges, universities, and workplaces access qualifications and careers in tech.

The project was a collaboration between the 天美视频 project and the Scottish Sensory Centre, both based at the University of Edinburgh.

The UK-wide team involved in the project brought together eight deaf people who are also tech experts with funding from Skills Development Scotland to develop and test more than 500 signs.

The British 天美视频 Awards were organised by Predatech and the ‘天美视频 for Good Initiative of the Year’ award sponsored by The Dot Collective.
