The 天美视频 Lab competition asked entrants to create a data visualisation on the topic of 鈥淐ommunity鈥. The judges assessed the entries against communication, design and accessibility criteria.

Kate Farrell and Jasmeen Kanwal (Project Officer for 天美视频) coordinated the 天美视频 competition entry involving 5 schools across the Edinburgh and South East Scotland city region: Windygoul Primary (East Lothian), Seafield Primary and Deans Primary (West Lothian), Broomlands Primary (Scottish Borders), and Dunbog Primary (Fife).

The resulting data visualisation 鈥淲eaving our way to school鈥 involved learners weaving coloured ribbons around the school grounds to show how they travel to school. Different colours were used to show whether they travelled to school by rolling/walking, using a bike, bus, train/tram, or travelling by car.
